Tile Wall
An interactive ceramic wall transformed modular tiles into an open field of play—visitors continually rearranged colour, geometry and pattern into a collective composition.
Created for the 2015 Unexpected Hill programme inside Burlington Gardens at the Royal Academy of Arts, London. The wall invited public exploration of ceramic geometry and asked how play might enrich everyday life.
Designed to be
redesigned.
Hundreds of patterned and three-dimensional ceramic pieces became a shared visual language. Every visitor could move a tile, begin a structure, interrupt one, or continue somebody else's idea. The wall was never a fixed artwork; it accumulated public gestures throughout the exhibition.
